Do you primarily use 3D models or 2D drawings in design reviews?
I ran a poll on Reddit’s r/MechanicalEngineering — 84 engineers voted:
- 49% said 3D models
- 21% said it depends on the stage
- 15% use both equally
- 14% said 2D drawings
Caveats: This is a self-selected online poll, not a representative survey. We don’t know who voted — the sample likely skews toward engineers active on Reddit. 84 votes is too small to generalize from. And “design review” is ambiguous — some commenters pointed out it means different things at different companies and stages.
