I’ve been on both sides of this. I’m a trained mechanical engineer who taught technical drawing at the University of Bremen. I’ve designed parts, created technical drawings, and worked with manufacturers. What it does

ClearHandoff is a drawing review tool for engineering teams. Upload a technical drawing (PDF), and in about a minute, our AI performs a first-pass review — flagging missing tolerances, conflicting dimensions, incomplete title blocks, and other common issues.

Then your team collaborates directly on the drawing: pinned comments on specific dimensions, threaded discussions, issue tracking with resolution status. When everything is resolved, you hand off to manufacturing with confidence.

What it doesn’t do

ClearHandoff is not meant to replace expert review. An experienced engineer’s judgment on design intent, manufacturability, and functional requirements is irreplaceable.

What it replaces is the repetitive part: the first-pass checks that catch the obvious mistakes before a senior engineer even looks. Think of it as a second pair of eyes that never gets tired and never skips a check.
