Checklists

A checklist is the list of points your team goes through before a drawing or 3D model is released.

Creating a checklist

Open Settings › Checklists. Drawings and 3D models have a tab each, as the review profiles do.

  • Enter adds the next item, Backspace on an empty line removes it.
  • Headings group the items and are not ticked.
  • Editing or deleting a checklist later does not change where it was already used.

Adding it to a drawing or model

Open the Checklist panel on the right of the viewer and pick one of your team's lists. Everyone on the file shares it.

  • When you upload a new version, the panel offers the list again and says how far the last version got.
  • Replacing or removing a list that has ticks asks first, the ticks are lost.

Ticking items

Tick an item once it is checked. The list shows who ticked it, and the Checklist button counts the open items down to a green check.

  • An item that does not apply to this file is marked N/A, shown when you point at it. It leaves the total, a click on its icon undoes it.
  • Ticked items stay in the list, greyed.

Commenting on an item

Click an item, then the spot on the drawing or model. The comment is about that item and names it.

  • The item's comments open under it, with their pin numbers. A click on one opens it in the Review panel.
  • Items with comments show how many they have.
  • A second click on the item or Escape ends it.

Who can do what

Members of the file's team add checklists. Who added a list, or an editor of the file, can replace or remove it. Outside reviewers tick and comment. More about sharing and permissions.

Asking for a review and approving

A checklist is optional, reviewing works the same without one. Once a drawing or model has one, reviewers are nudged to go through it before approving.

  • The review request email names the checklist and its first items, so whoever you ask knows what to look at.
  • Approving with open items says how many are still open, with a way back to the list. It does not block approving.
  • Items marked N/A do not count as open.
